Rye Tourist Attractions - Hotel



Ypres Tower, built in 1250, is the oldest building open to the public in Rye. Located within the Tower is a rare smuggling lantern, medieval pottery, maps showing the changes to the coastline. Replica medieval weapons and other items are on display. The tower offers stunning views over the Romney marsh.



Take some time out and explore the church on the top of Lion Street. On selected dates you can climb the tower and take in the stunning views of Rye below.



Just outside Ypres tower, take a look over the towards Camber Sands. Here your find the canons that were used to defend the town from ship attacks.



Rye has many restaurants and cafe's. Don't forget to try the locally caught Rye Scallop - famous around the world. Every Wednesday morning you can also visit the Rye farmers market on the quay side. From local fresh fish to Kent apple juice and Romney Marsh lamb, take the tastes of Rye home with you.

A brick-fronted with a surprisingly large town garden run by the National Trust, The house is linked with literary associations – both Henry James and E. F. Benson lived here.
